Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 June 2026. This policy explains how Code In WordPress handles your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Code In WordPress provides remote WordPress speed optimisation, maintenance and care services to businesses across Australia. We're founded and run by Muhammad Younus, and we operate entirely remotely, over Zoom, Google Meet and async tools, on Australian business hours. We don't keep a physical storefront, so there's no street address to publish. If you've got a question about your privacy or this policy, email us at privacy@codeinwordpress.com or use our contact form, and we'll reply within one business day.

2. What information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and deliver our services. That includes:

  • Information you give us through forms. When you request a free speed audit or get in touch, we collect your name, email address, website URL and any message you send.
  • Information you give us during a project. If you engage us, we may collect access credentials, billing contact details and anything you choose to share so we can do the work.
  • Analytics and usage data. We may collect anonymised or pseudonymised data about how the site is used, such as pages viewed and general location, through cookies and analytics.
  • Server logs. Our hosting may record technical data like IP address, browser type and timestamps for security and diagnostics.

We don't ask for payment card details on this website, and we don't collect sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to respond to free-audit requests and enquiries, prepare quotes, deliver the services you engage us for, send you project updates and invoices, keep the site secure, and meet our legal obligations. We don't sell your personal information, and we won't add you to a marketing list without your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

4. Cookies and analytics

We may use cookies and privacy-focused analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. You can block or delete them through your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work. Where we use an analytics provider, we configure it to limit the personal data collected. We don't use cookies to build advertising profiles of you.

5. Data storage, retention and security

This site runs over HTTPS, so data sent through our forms is encrypted in transit. We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or as long as the law requires, then we delete or de-identify it. REQUIRED INPUT: confirm your exact retention period, for example "enquiry data is kept for 24 months unless you become a client". We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure storage. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we treat your data with care.

6. Third-party services we use

To run our business and this website, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers, which may store data outside Australia. These typically include a website host, an analytics provider, an email or form handler, and, where you become a paying client, a payment processor. Each provider only receives the data needed for its function, and each has its own privacy policy. REQUIRED INPUT: confirm and name your hosting provider, analytics tool, form/email handler and payment processor here before publishing. We don't pass your information to third parties for their own marketing.

7. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Act

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to request access to it, and to ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate or out of date. You can also ask us to delete information we no longer need. To make a request, email privacy@codeinwordpress.com. We'll respond within a reasonable period, usually within 30 days. There's no charge to ask, and we'll explain if there's ever a reason we can't action a request in full.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to us first, and if you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

8. Data breach notification

If a data breach happens that's likely to cause you serious harm, we'll act under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. That means we'll contain the breach, assess it, and notify you and the OAIC as the scheme requires, with clear steps you can take to protect yourself.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our services or the law change. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We'd encourage you to check back occasionally. Significant changes will be made clear rather than buried.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy or your information? Email privacy@codeinwordpress.com or reach us through the contact form. We reply within one business day, on AU hours.
